Criteria for Academic Awards for the year 2014-23

For Classes VI to VIII: (Subject to minimum 75% of attendance)

Scholastic Areas

Grade A2 in Maths, Hindi, English, Science, Social Studies, Computers and 3rd Language.

Co-Scholastic Areas

The student must score a minimum Grade B in each: Work Experience, Art Education, Physical and Health Education, Life Skills, Attitudes and Co-Scholastic Activities.

Co-Scholastic Areas : XII

For Classes IX and X: (Subject to minimum 75% of attendance)

Scholastic Areas

Grade A2 and above in Maths, Science, Social Studies, Computers, English and 2nd Language.

Co-Scholastic Areas

The student must score a minimum Grade B in each: Work Experience, Art Education, Physical and Health Education, Life Skills, Attitudes and Co-Scholastic Activities.

For Classes XI and XII: (Subject to minimum 75% of attendance)

XI (Science Stream) 80% and above in 4 subjects;
75% in English and 80% aggregate

XI (Commerce and Humanities Stream) 75% and above in all subjects and 75% aggregate

A commendation certificate to be awarded to students who have shown 15% increase in their overall aggregate after the Half Yearly Exams.

Gown: Students receiving Scholar Badge for three consecutive years are given a gown (School Blazer) made to their size by the school. This is achieved for the first time by students passing out of Class VI.

Blue Blazer

Gold Medal at 6 years: is awarded to students who have been scholars for six years in succession. This is received for the first time by students passing out of Class IX. The gold medalist will also be awarded a Blue Blazer.

Silver Medal: is awarded to students who have been scholars for six years with a one year gap. This medal can be received for the first time by students passing out of Class X. The Silver medalist will be awarded a Blue Blazer also.

Gold Medal at 9 years: is awarded to students who have been scholars for nine years in succession. This prestigious award can be attained only by students who have passed Class XII provided they have secured 4 A1s in Board Exams.

Proficiency Awards:

Classes VI - X

A Marker Cup would be given to a student securing Grade A1 in all Scholastic Areas.

Class XII

Book Vouchers are given to students obtaining 5 A1s in AISSCE (Class XII Board)

Special Awards:

Principal’s Commendation Medal is awarded to :

  • Students securing highest in the 3 streams at the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII Board) Science: 90% minimum; Commerce: 85% minimum and Humanities 80% minimum.
  • Students getting the highest marks in school for each subject in AISSCE (Class XII Board) provided more than 10 students appeared for the exam.
    • Best Sportsman of the year is awarded Late Shri Prem Sehgal Marker Cup.
    • Best Sportswoman of the year is awarded Mr. Salman Khurshid Marker Cup.
    • N.D.A. Selection: Late 2nd Lt.I.K.Gupta Medal for highest marks in NDA Selection Test. (A medal will be awarded to the DPS student securing the highest marks in the NDA Khadakvasla Selection Test. DPS students joining the NDA should inform the school)
    • Ujjwal Iyer Marker Cup: for ‘All Rounder’ Class IX.
    • Banwari Lal Charitable Trust Marker Cup: for Topper in AISSCE (XII).
    • Regularity Attendance Certificate: is given to all students with 100% attendance for the Academic Session.
    • Certificate of Merit: The Board awards certificate of merit on the basis of outstanding performance and obtaining Grade A1 in all the subjects (excluding additional 6th subject) opted by the candidate in All India/Delhi Secondary School Examination. The Board awards certificate of merit in each subject to the top 0.1 % of the successful candidates in order to recognize their merit and outstanding performance at its Senior School Certificate Examinations.
  • Marker Cup: A Marker Cup is given to students of Class XI for getting the highest marks in a subject. Minimum percentage marks for getting a Marker Cup is 75% provided he/she passes in all subjects in each terminal report. Only one Marker Cup is awarded to a student.

Heads of Faculties must give their final approval.
