Spanning sixty years of significance and success

Widely known for its progressive approach and commitment to excel in educational leadership, much sought after for its well-defined systems, amalgamating tradition with modernity, the Delhi Public School Society has evolved as a matrix of high educational standards, spanning its network, among the educational institutions of majority of the states of the country with many abroad as well. Each school, under the Society though autonomous, upholds with dignity its founders’ commitment to excellence in all fields.

In the last sixty years, DPS has been the seed ground for germination of lofty ideas of education to nurture and ensure steady growth of young men and women. A great number of the ‘Dipsites’, have attained success and eminence, bring glory to their alma mater by holding prominent positions not only in India but abroad too. Which has resulted in making DPS, a household word in school education .

With an emphasis on the motto ‘Service Before Self’, the objectives of the society primarily have been to produce global citizens – men and women of high caliber, with skills and leadership qualities to serve the society. The DPS education has enabled them to outstand as eminent administrators, scientists, technocrats, legal experts and educators, artists and proficient professionals – quaint essentially as socially committed citizens. The popularity of DPS education has also been supported by the commitment to provide quality education through reputed schools at reasonable cost to the upwardly mobile middle class. More significantly have been the pioneering efforts, to take up the challenge of inclusion through formal as well as non-formal educational programmes of the marginalized sections of rural and urban children and also the girl child.

The birth of a new nation in 1947, a momentous chapter in the history was in a way the beginning of DPS (called Naveen Bharat then..) with DPS Mathura Road as the flagship school of the society till 1972, when DPS R.K. Puram was born.

At present there are more than 130 Delhi Public Schools in India, inclusive of 14 schools abroad. Each school, under the aegis of DPS Society, endeavors to provide excellent facilities on the campus – impressive school buildings, hostel, facilities for sports and games and co-curricular activities. The mettle of the education imparted in Delhi Public Schools fostering the twin hallmarks of distinction and diversity, is tested by way of excellent Board results due to exemplary performances of its students year after year. All that has become possible with the help and guidance of the highly qualified, talented faculty, positive and skilled, endeavoring to make the learning experiences for the young learners impressionable and lasting.
