Delhi Public School Mathura Road is in its sixtieth year. The voyage in the sea
of excellence and learning began sixty years back. Each decade has brought to the
world of education a fresh impetus. The onerous task of turning dreams to reality
has brought the school to this milestone. 2009 is a landmark year. A well deserved
Diamond Jubilee, worthy of the celebrations lying ahead. The vision of the Principal
Shri M.I Hussain and the efforts invested by the staff and students have made such
a large scale possible.
The varied programmes to honour this step into history also provide a glimpse into
the multifaceted personality of the 21st century learner. They highlight the positive
efforts of moving with the times.
The stress today is holistic development. Yet academic excellence is the axis on
which revolves the honing of other skills. The festivities began with a morning
devoted to awarding excellence in the field of academics and co- curricular , on
10th November 2009, in the presence of Dr Kapila Vatsyayan – founder and
former academic Director of the Indira Gandhi National Centre of the Arts, New Delhi.

A fitting finale to the evening is the Annual Production “ The Genius of India

explores values that emanate from the values inculcated by the school, even seen
in the motto “ Service Before Self “. It co-relates our glorious educational tradition
to the guru- shishya parampara and the present DPS story. A fascinating dance drama,
